We love this plant.  A lovely blue star flower on top of a delicious cucumber tasting plant.  A medicinal plant known for it’s healthy skin properties, it is a must in our garden.  Easy to grow and often reseeds itself, you will be happy to have this ally in your garden.

Description

Borage (Starflower)

  • 100 seeds
  • Annual (reseeding)
  • Open pollinated

  • Full and half-sun
  • Water every day until established and then every 2-3 days
  • Maturity – 50-60 days
  • Germination – 7-10 days
  • Height – 1-2′

Seed: Indoors 2 weeks before last frost.  Or direct seed when weather starts to get milder.  Seed can withstand a few freezes but baby plants might not be a vigorous.

Grown on the farm, this pollinator plant produces early spring leaves and flowers that are edible. We love borage as a beauty treatment for skin. The original seeds are from Patrice Fortier, LSDP, QC.
