Grown on the farm, epazote is an heirloom herb from mexico, used in many traditional dishes, as well as an herbal tea. We especially use it when we are cooking our beans in chili as it gives them a unique flavour that we thought we could only find in Mexico. Epazote is used to reduce the gases that increase flatulence. We obtained the seeds from Johanne Paquet Siwi, Huron Wendat. Also known as :
Jesuit's tea, Spanish tea, American goosefoot, American wormseed, Baltimore wormseed, bitter weed, demi-god's food, herb sancti Mariae, Indian wormweed, wormbush, worm grass, wormseed oil plant... Sow: Start indoor 2 weeks before last frost or direct seed after last frost. Will spread really easy so if you do not want it all over your farm, harvest before it goes to seed.
